Doris Engelhardt retires after four successful years

The Catholic Women's Social Service (SkF) in Schweinfurt is embarking on a new chapter under new leadership: Anne Schwalbe took over as director on 1 March 2025. She succeeds Doris Engelhardt, who is stepping down after four intense and successful years to enjoy her retirement.

Doris Engelhardt took over as managing director at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic – a time full of uncertainty and challenges. Despite all the adversity, she succeeded in significantly developing the SkF. For example, the new Ledward children's home was opened and the offices in the Bischof-Stangl-Haus in Schweinfurt were modernised. A particular focus was placed on the digitalisation of the association: the introduction of a modern telephone system, the implementation of mobile working and the establishment of digital file management (e-files) enable more efficient work processes and more flexible teamwork – important steps for the future direction of the association.

"After four years full of moving encounters and shared successes, I am retiring. With a wistful but also deeply grateful heart, I am handing over responsibility to new, younger hands – in the certainty that SkF e. V. Schweinfurt will continue to be a place of help, solidarity and charity," says Doris Engelhardt as she bids farewell.

SkF Schweinfurt has undergone constant change over the decades in order to meet the challenges of the times. Anne Schwalbe will continue this development: the business administration graduate brings with her sound management experience and comprehensive economic knowledge. For many years, she worked as a management consultant at Caritas-Einrichtungen gGmbH (CEG), a social enterprise in Lower Franconia with around 1,300 employees.

After a brief handover period, Anne Schwalbe has now officially taken over as managing director. Chairwoman Klara Weigand thanked Doris Engelhardt for her tremendous commitment and expressed her confidence: "We are very happy to have gained such a highly competent and dedicated person in Anne Schwalbe. Together, we look to the future with optimism and look forward to continuing the work of SkF Schweinfurt in line with our Christian values."

The Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen e.V. With a clear focus on supporting children, young people, women and families in special circumstances, the association helps people to discover and develop their strengths. In addition to various projects, its most important services include pregnancy counselling, a care association and work with migrant women.
