Implementation of legal counselling

Guardianship under the Guardianship Act

As a guardianship association, we take on legal guardianships upon the decision of the guardianship court.

What is legal guardianship under the Guardianship Act?

Guardianship under the Guardianship Act is legal representation in areas that a person can no longer or no longer fully take care of themselves as a result of a mental, intellectual, psychological or physical disability.

What is the scope of this legal representation?

It encompasses activities in areas that the person concerned is no longer able to perform adequately. These areas of responsibility are determined by the guardianship judge. The guardian acts according to the area of responsibility and

  • submits applications to various authorities
  • is looking for a home, therapy places or carers
  • manages assets or liabilities
  • takes care of workplace and housing matters
  • arranges all necessary medical care measures

All questions that arise are discussed in person as far as possible. The wishes and ideas of those receiving care are taken into account and appreciated. Care in the legal sense does not mean taking over personal care or domestic help. Rather, care involves creating the conditions and initiating all measures necessary for its implementation.
