Parent and family work in shared accommodation centres

Parent and family work in shared accommodation centres

Since 2006, our employees have been advising and supporting asylum-seeking families in shared accommodation in the Schweinfurt area. Previously in Breite Wiese and currently in Friedrich-Stein-Straße, Wilhelmstraße, Sattlerstraße and in the former Ledward barracks.

It is important to us that the children are not only provided with material necessities. As part of the project, we promote the children's linguistic and social skills through playful activities, because skills in these areas are an important prerequisite for successful integration. Our social worker offers age-appropriate leisure activities for three hours a week. She supports and encourages schoolchildren with their homework in the afternoons. In addition, we are looking for opportunities to connect with sports clubs, daycare centres, etc.

The project is funded by the city of Schweinfurt.
