Reality of life in Bavaria

Reality of life in Bavaria

In December 2016, the SkF Schweinfurt launched a pilot project by the Ministry of Integration specifically aimed at female migrants with permanent residence permits: Women's meeting "Real life in Bavaria".

This project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration.

The Free State is thus promoting the development of culture and values that primarily benefit immigrant women and, in a second step, also serve to integrate their families. In addition, the aim is to strengthen women's own abilities and self-confidence.
Since March 2017, recognised women of various nationalities have been gathering with their children every week in Schweinfurt and the district of Schweinfurt (since 2018) to experience German culture and empowerment together. In addition to joint activities such as cooking, physical exercise and creativity, the women learn new skills and get to know German life through excursions in the region and by celebrating German festivals. With this project, the Catholic Women's Social Service offers a space for exchange where women can be themselves and have time for themselves. Childcare is also available.
